Saturday the 9th January

There's not been much happening since my last post. Lockdown means we can't really do much anyway. Little walks with Mario, Kasia and Nino because they're in our bubble and that's been about it.

I had a bad day on Thursday which would have been my Mum's 87th birthday. I couldn't stop thinking about her all day and I miss her so much. She was the only person that truly understood me and that I could talk to about anything. It's the worst thing to lose someone you love so much. I wouldn't want her back here suffering but she should never have gone the way she did. That really plays on my mind all the time but I can't change anything. I have to try and remember the good times. Love you ♥Mum♥

I had a walk to the pond on her birthday. This was about where the other photo was taken of me and Mum about10 years ago.

I was looking on youtube for a TV programme that my stepdad was in years ago and found it! It was called Dreamtown and he's only in it for a few seconds at the end but it was so nice to see. He was an organist and used to play in pubs and private hotels. He was a lovely man. I just pray him and Mum are re-united now.

Lucia has a new little puppy. She's her other dog Bentley's baby. They're French Bulldogs and so gorgeous. Lily's going to be such a little character. So cute ♥

Monday 4th January and another Lockdown!

Well here we are again entering Lockdown 3. It had to happen, but I really do feel for everyone who suffers finacially, physically and mentally. When will it all end? I'm afraid it's going to be a long, long time before we get even close to some kind of normality.

We went for a walk on Cleveleys beach today and it was wonderful. At least living near the sea is something we can be thankful for. On a day like today, frosty, but no wind and well wrapped up, it was just what we both needed. On our return to the car, Aniello noticed a scarf tied to the top of a bench and realised it was one of mine. I must have lost it from the last walk we did, which was a few days ago. Amazing that we found it and thank you to whoever it was that put it there. I didn't even notice I'd lost it!

When we got home I decided to take the tree down, but not before another little photoshoot with Ruby. She'll do anything for a treat!

It's nice to have my rocking chair back in my favourite place by the patio doors and facing the garden. I spotted 6 different species of birds in the space of 10 minutes. A Robin, two bluetits which I think were probably a pair, two blackbirds, again possibly a pair, a Great Tit, lots of Goldfinches and pigeons. Starlings came to the tree at the bottom of the garden and a squirel came for some nuts. I just love watching the activity. Better than any TV..

We're missing Nino now. We haven't seen him for a couple of days. Thank goodness for Facetime!. They are in our bubble so we're going to see him tomorrow all being well.

I'm off to buy a new lens now to cheer myself up. Until next time :D

Saturday 2 January 2021

2nd of January.

We didn't do much today apart from going down to North Pier to watch the starlings. A lovely sight as always and the added bonus of a beautiful sunset. It was so cold though. Kasia brought hot chocolate again which was lovely and so good to see our little Nino again. 2 days on the run!

And that's it! Very boring day.

Some photos of the starlings..

Happy New Year 2021

Well here we are at 8.30pm on New Year's Day. What a lovely day we've had too! Starting as we mean to go on. No arguing (hopefully!) seeing our beautiful Grandson Nino (and his Mummy and Daddy) We went to Stanley Park at 3pm for the sunset, also thinking it wouldn't be too busy but there were a few families about. Very cold and the lake was frozen in parts. Just my kind of weather. Kasia had made some hot chocolate and coffee liquor and we drank them by the lake. Lovely ♥

I made a start this morning on having a sort out in the house. It's ridiculous the amount of useless bits and bobs I have. I'm officially a hoarder! I need to do a bit each day and hopefully by Summer the house content will be minimal. That's my goal anyway.

My sister-in law Janet bought me a diamond painting kit for Christmas which I started on Boxing Day. Love it. I've done a few now and they're so addictive.

My aim is to try and do at least a couple of posts a week now so fingers crossed I can stick to it.

Happy New Year and praying 2021 is a much better year for us all and we can hopefully send that Covid 19 packing! Can't wait to get our jabs!
